Wine Menu at In Fine Spirits

Wine by the Glass and Bottle

At our wine bar we offer more than 60 hand-selected wines by the glass and by the bottle. We specialize in New World, handcrafted wines and unusual varietals that represent the cutting-edge of quality and value. Our wine selection changes seasonally, and it changes with the availability of limited release and smaller production wines.

For summer, we have expanded our selection of whites, lighter reds, and rosés as we enjoy the height of the season on the patio.

Featured Wines

Babcock Winery 2008 Syrah 'Identity Crisis'

Babcock Winery 2008 "Identity Crisis" Syrah - When Jill and Shane were in Santa Barbara County earlier this year, winemaker Brian Babcock pulled a sample of this out of barrel to taste after a long day in Lompoc - and they didn’t know what to think, they just knew they liked it. On sight, it’s definitely not a red; on taste, it’s definitely not a white… so we include it on our list of rosés. Bone dry and oxidized peach in color, creamy and tasting of nectarines and maybe cinnamon... or was that white pepper on the finish? Don't miss your chance to reveal its identity! ($8 glass, $32 bottle)

Thurston Wolfe Lemberger exclusively at In Fine Spirits

Thurston Wolfe 2007 Lemberger - We are especially thrilled to be the exclusive Chicago source for this limited release from Horse Heaven Hills, Washington. This 100% Lemberger (a.k.a. Blaufränkish) shows its natural cherry and raspberry fruits as if they were swirled in vanilla and black pepper and then aged in American oak barrels for 13 months to mellow. Enjoy this exclusively here (or at the winery), as only 120 cases were produced. ($9 glass, $36 bottle)

Tasting Flights at In Fine Spirits

Wine Tasting Flights

We present discovery-themed "tasting trios" each season. Each flight includes three individual 2-ounce pours in tasting glasses. Here are three samples for summer sipping:

Iberian Poetry 11.5
Just as the Romans and Moors before us, we have been inspired by the beauty and elegance of these indigenous Iberian varietals, and all we can say is "Cheers," "Salud" and "À sua saúde!"
  • Albariño: Abacela 2008 "Estate Grown" (Umpqua Valley, Oregon)
  • Verdejo: Vevi 2007 (Rueda, Spain)
  • Arinto, Antao Vaz, & Roupeiro: Esporão 2007 White D.O.C. Reserva (Reguengos de Monsaraz, Portugal)
The Grass is Always Grüner 9
It’s time to take a second look at Austrian varietals – we’re sure you’ll enjoy these takes on two of the most prominent: Grüner Veltliner and Blaufränkisch (a.k.a. Lemberger).
  • Grüner Veltliner: Höpler 2007 (Burgenland, Austria)
  • Rosé of Blaufänkisch: Murphy’s Law 2007 (Columbia Valley, Washington)
  • Lemberger: Thurston Wolfe 2007 (Horse Heaven Hills, Washington)
French Current Affairs 12.5
Keats said, "Give me books, fruit, French wine and fine weather and a little music out of doors..." We cannot think of a better way to enjoy Chicago's summer. Rediscover your love of classic French wines with us.
  • Gamay: Château Thivin 2007 Côte de Brouilly (Beaujolais, France)
  • Cabernet Franc: Château Perray Jouannet 2005 Anjou (Loire Valley, France)
  • Merlot: Château Puynormond 2006 "Vielles Vignes" (Montagne-Saint-Emilion, France)
