Clos Bate 2013 ‘l’Esprit de Baste’ MadiranIn Fine Spirits
The grape varieties that make up the Esprit de Basté are Tannat (75%) and Cabernet Franc (25%). The grapes are vinified in small large vats, by plot and separate grape varieties. Long maceration (4 weeks) precedes aging for several months in old barrels and vats. Bottling takes place 20 months after harvest. On tasting, this wine is characterized by a dark and brilliant red color. It has a powerful nose blending wild fruits such as blueberries and spicy notes. The palate is full with a coated structure and complex aromas. It is a classic, carnal and authentic Madiran.
